Narex Carbide Insert Hollowing Lathe Tool Shallow Swan Neck 22-1/2” Overall (819602)
Narex carbide insert hollowing lathe tools are specialized for shaping and smoothing the interior surfaces of hollow or deep vessels, such as bowls, vases, or other forms with narrow openings.
These tools feature a flat-bottom long, slender tipped toolbar that allows the turner to reach deep inside the workpiece. They are designed to be used with the toolbar resting flat on the tool rest and pushed straight into the work, then swept side to side to remove material.
This Shallow Swan Neck Hollowing Tool (819602) enables the turner to begin the curved portion of the inside of a hollow vessel.
These hollowers, with long 7” toolbars and 15-1/2” handles, are designed for turning medium to large bowls and hollow vessels. The exchangeable tips are made from high-quality tungsten carbide, which maintains a sharp edge longer than traditional steel tools. This results in smoother finishes, more precise work, and eliminates the need for sharpening. When the tips become dull, they can be rotated to expose a sharp edge. Each tool comes equipped with a .350” diameter round cutter.
