Thomas Flinn is the oldest remaining traditional hand saw maker in Sheffield, England. Thomas Flinn produces an extensive range of saws under famous traditional brands like Pax, Lynx, William Greaves and Dorchester. This saw is co-branded Lynx / Taytools. Thomas Flinn is known for making reasonably-priced, professional-quality western-style hand saws. This saw is made from world-renowned Sheffield allow spring steel. providing a good balance of edge durability and ease of sharpening. The saw plate is held straight and true by a thick, solid brass spine. The folded brass back means the blade is held under tension offering excellent rigidity and balance. The weight of the brass back aids the fine cutting ability of this saw. It comes with a handle made from stained European Beech and has brass button screws. The handle is attractive and comfortable in use. The 10" blade has a maximum depth of cut of 2-3/8". The 12" blade has a maximum depth cut of 3-1/8". The 14" blade has a macimum depth cut of 3-1/8". The blades have 15 TPI and are filed for crosscutting making them perfect for cutting tenon cheeks. The saw is hand sharpened before leaving the factory and can be resharpened.
