These 6" (150mm) digital calipers use advanced Absolute Encoder technology, which provides highly accurate measurements. Here's how it works:

  • Absolute Zero Memory: The calipers memorize the "Absolute Zero" point (the origin). This setting needs to be established only once and is retained even when the calipers are turned off.

  • ZERO Button: Use this button to set the "Absolute Zero" (origin) at any point along the sensor's travel. This establishes a fixed reference point for all measurements.

  • ABS Button: This button toggles between two modes:

    • Incremental Zero Mode: Allows you to set a temporary zero point for measuring relative or comparative distances. This is helpful for tasks requiring incremental measurements.
    • Return to Absolute Zero: Pressing the ABS button again switches back to the "Absolute Zero" reference.

In summary, the calipers let you measure both absolute and incremental distances without losing the original zero setting, providing flexibility and precision for a wide range of measurement tasks.
