While most woodworking situations require a razor edge, there are times when a blunt edge performs better—offering greater control and effectiveness without the risk of digging in or removing too much material.

The edge on the Narex Blunt Chisel is rough-ground to 80 degrees and technically "blunted," but with minimal honing at the same angle, it transforms into a highly effective scraping tool. Simply refine the edge using a grinder, narrow belt sander, or a 220-grit diamond hone, and you'll have a versatile tool capable of:

• Removing dried glue without damaging surrounding wood
• Smoothing and refining small defects, particularly in harder and exotic species
• Cleaning up tenons, corners, and other hard-to-reach areas
• Removing rust from flat surfaces
• Creating an ultra-fine scraping tool by grinding to 90 degrees and adding a burr to both sides (use an Accu Burr AB2 for this).
