Narex Richter Paring Chisel With Long Handles (1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2")
In the small village of Bystrice in the Czech Republic, the Narex factory has been making world-class edge tools for over 105 years. Founded in 1919 by Mr. Vaclav Richter, a local blacksmith, Narex is renowned for producing high-quality, reasonably priced edge tools. Despite modern advancements, Narex retains many traditional manufacturing methods, including old-world drop-forging techniques that enhance the steel's strength and durability.
To commemorate its 100th anniversary, Narex introduced the Richter Extra premium bench chisels, named after their founder, and recently launched a new line of Richter Extra paring chisels, which rival any premium paring chisel on the market today.
BLADES:
Richter Extra paring chisel blades are made from high-quality Chrome Vanadium (Cr-V) steel using traditional drop-forging methods. They are hardened, cryogenically treated, and tempered to a hardness of 62 HRc, with fine-grinding and polishing ensuring a mirror-like surface and ultra-thin sides for getting into tight spaces. The front bevel is ground at 24 degrees.
Blades are 5-3/4" Long.
CRYOGENIC TREATMENT:
This process involves cooling the steel to -190°C (-310°F) using liquid nitrogen, significantly increasing its strength, toughness, and wear resistance at the molecular level.
HANDLES:
Richter paring chisel handles are longer, providing extra control for handwork without a mallet. Made from domestically harvested European Ash, known for its strength and attractive grain. The ergonomic handles are sanded and hand-finished with friction shellac for protection, comfort and control. A solid stainless-steel ferrule and leather washer prevent splitting.
Handles are 8" Long.
LIFETIME GUARANTEE:
Richter paring chisels come with a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects in material, design, or construction, with free replacement or repair provided. This guarantee is void if the products are damaged due to carelessness, neglect, or inappropriate use.
