This plane is a replica of the classic No. 90 Cabinet Maker's Rabbet Plane, originally designed by Stanley Works and produced from 1898 to 1969.

This plane nestles perfectly in the palm of your hand and is the favorite shoulder plane of many professional woodworkers. Some find it a superior alternative to a block plane when chamfering corners, but with a narrower blade. It excels at refining rabbets, cleaning up inside corners, and working into stopped corners.

The blade extends across the entire width of the sole, allowing precise trimming right into the corner of a rabbet. It can remove extremely thin layers—down to just a few thousandths of an inch—ensuring a perfect fit for strong, long-lasting joints.

The body is precision-machined from ductile cast iron with ground soles and sides. The 1" wide cutting iron, made from hardened tool steel (55-60 HRc), is 0.110" thick with a 25° bevel. The blade will need to be sharpened and honed before use. The blade is bedded at 20° and adjusted via a solid brass knurled adjustment screw.

Overall dimensions are 1" wide, 5" overall length, and 2-1/4" tall, with a weight of 20 oz.

Comes in a presentation box.
