Thin Rip Tablesaw Jig, Solid Anodized Aluminum, Fits 3/4" x 3/8 Miter Slots

Cutting consistent-sized thin strips is crucial for projects like Kumiko, inlays, and custom moldings. However, cutting thin strips that are trapped between the blade and fence can be dangerous, potentially leading to kickbacks or binding or burn marks due to the release of internal tension in the wood. The safest method is to have the offcut piece fall on the outside of the blade. This thin rip jig ensures you can safely and consistently cut thin strips, keeping the offcut on the left side of the blade for safer, more accurate cuts.

Constructed from solid, corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum, this jig is designed to last. Weighing in at 1-1/2 pounds and 7-1/2" long x 5" wide x 2-1/4" tall, it provides reliable support for repeatable cuts.

To use the thin rip jig: 

1. Start by ripping a fresh edge on your stock to create a straight, parallel edge.  
2. Adjust the fence so you’ll cut a strip at your desired thickness on the left side of the blade, then lock the fence in place.  
3. Install the thin rip jig in the miter slot, positioning the bearing guide approximately 1” in front of the blade. Hand-tighten the jig at this point.  
4. Place your stock on the table saw and slide the jig until the bearing rests snugly against the board, and tighten the jig in place. This ensures the stock stays pressed against the fence as you push it forward.  
5. Perform a test cut, measure the strip, and adjust both the fence and jig as needed.  
6. For each subsequent cut, unlock the fence, move it until the stock touches the bearing, then lock the fence in place and make your cut.  

This ensures consistent, precise and safe cuts with each pass.
