Benchmark Tools Sharkstep M2 HSS 118° Twist Drill Bits - 15 Piece Set
These patented Sharkstep drill bits cut 60% faster than conventional split point drill bits. The multi-stepped tip acts like a step drill which prevents walking on smooth or curved surfaces. and allows for laser drilling straight holes in metal and other materials. This unique tip geometry requires 40% less torque which creates less heat and thus increases tool life.
Constructed from M2 High SPOeed Steel these bits stay sharp up to 5X longer than conventional and other specialty drill bit designs.
The 118° split point allows for fast penetration, accurate and easy starting without a center punch. The precision ground point, flutes, body, clearance and drill diameter result in the ultimate in accuracy and performance.
They are perfect for enlarging existing holes without binding on entry or grabbing as the bit exits the material. Plus, these bits virtually eliminate burrs and blowout on the exit side.
The three-flatted shanks reduce slippage common with keyless chucks.
They are recommended for use with cast iron, brass, sheet metal, plastic, aluminum, mild steel, copper, hardened steel and even wood and composites. They excel at drilling thinner and hardened metals.
Sizes Included:
- 3/8", 5/16", 1/4", 9/64", 1/8", 1/8", 7/32", 3/16", 5/32", 7/64", 3/32", 3/32", 5/64", 1/16", 1/16"
- Note: this set includes pairs of some common sizes, including 1/16", 3/32", 1/8".
Features:
- Fully Impact Resistant - Highly durable bits for drilling into solid wood, plastics, and metals.
- Quality M2 HSS - Manufactured from quality materials and last up to x5 longer than conventional bits.
- Features a patented stepped drill point, which offers 60% faster drill with 40% less torque.
- The tri-faced shank allows for better hold in the drill chuck to prevent slippage.
- The stepped head and spiral design help prevent "walking", "chipping", and "tearout" as the head of the bit cuts a small hole and each "step" in the bit enlarges the hole.
