Tapered screw is threaded into a pre-drilled hole in the back of the work-piece and tightened via a wrench or the square hole in the screw nut
Other end is placed through a hole in a workbench or table and secured in place with the large threaded wing nut

Threaded rod is 1/2" diameter and 7" long. The threaded portion of the screw is 2-1/4" long
Wing nut is 4-1/2" long x 1" wide by 3/16" thick
