This low-angle block plane is based on the older vintage Stanley #60-1/2, produced from 1902 through 1982.

This low-angle block plane is the perfect tool for smaller smoothing and trimming jobs. The low-angle design excels at slicing through end grain. This block plane is ideal for the cabinet maker and discerning woodworker. The body is made from nearly indestructible stress-relieved ductile cast iron. The soles are precision lapped to within 0.001" over the entire length of the sole. Overall length is 7-1/4" long and 1-13/16" wide. Weight is 1.96 pounds. The powder-coated cap iron provides a comfortable palm rest for extended use. The blade is adjusted forward/back via the solid brass rear adjustment knob. The 1/8" thick by 1-3/8" wide tool steel iron is hardened and tempered to 55-60 HRc. Blade is ground at 25 degrees. The mouth opening can be easily adjusted for both fine and coarse work. This plane has good mass to reduce chatter and can easily be used one-handed. Bed angle is 12 degrees.

Features:
  • Plane mouth is fully adjustable using the front knurled brass knob. Close the mouth to reduce tearout or open the mouth during thicker cuts.
  • Black Coated Steel Knuckle Cap adjusted using brass spinwheel.
  • Easily adjustable lateral bracket (for aligning the blade to the mouth of the plane) and depth knob.
