Taytools Individual Replacement Bench Plane Blades and Chipbreakers for Stanley, Record and Woodriver Planes #4 through #7

These premium replacement bench plane blades and chipbreakers are designed to work with size #4 through #7 Wood River, Stanley, Record, and other makes of bench planes. They are made from high carbon tool steel and hardened to Rockwell 60-62. After heat treating, the blade is fully surface ground on the top, back, and cutting edge, providing a smooth, flat surface that will take a mirror finish with minimal effort. These blades are a full 1/8” thick to provide solid, chatter-free cutting. The primary bevel is ground to 25 degrees, but honing a secondary bevel of 5° to 10° will greatly increase performance, help achieve a razor-sharp edge quickly, and improve edge retention. These blades are easy to sharpen, take a keen edge, and will hold an edge for a very long time.

Note: Many vintage Stanley planes have a very narrow mouth opening. These and many other modern irons will not fit through the mouth without additional widening with a file.
