Details

The flat sole spokeshave is the most commonly used spokesgave pattern today—and for good reason. It’s easy to set up, simple to use, and versatile enough for a wide range of shaping tasks.

This version features two adjustable screws for precise depth-of-cut adjustments. The flat-bottom design is ideal for shaping straight or convex surfaces, as well as rounding stock.

Crafted from durable ductile cast iron with a black coating, this spokeshave is based on the classic Stanley 151 model.

The high-carbon tool steel irons are hardened to 55-60 Rockwell C and come machined-sharpened at a 25-degree bevel. Honing is recommended before use.

As I expected

New to using this tool. As I expected from TayTools this seems very well made and I suspect will last a lifetime. At such a good price, that is actually more than reasonable to expect!
