This cabinet scraper plane is a faithful modern interpretation of the classic Stanley No. 80, originally produced from 1898 to 1984. It is an ideal tool for final surface preparation, producing flat, smooth results—especially on difficult or highly figured grain where planes can tear out.

The body is cast from stress-relieved ductile iron and finished with a durable, baked-on powder coat. The sole is precision-lapped flat for consistent contact and control. With its solid mass and balanced feel, the plane excels at controlled scraping without chatter.

The scraper blade is made from tool steel, hardened to approximately 48–51 HRC, and ground to a 45° bevel with the hook turned toward the flat face of the blade. When installing the blade (insert it from the sole to avoid damaging the burr), ensure the hook faces the direction in which the blade leans. The rear thumbscrew allows you to increase or decrease blade curvature, letting you easily fine tune the cut from coarse to fine.

Brass thumbscrews and tightening hardware provide smooth, durable adjustment, while the chrome-plated flat bar adds rigidity. One handle includes a hanging hole for convenient storage when not in use.
