Details

This #62 low angle jack plane is the perfect tool to smooth, flatten and joint boards. It excels at trimming end grain. This low angle jack plane is ideal for the cabinet maker and discerning woodworker. The body is made from nearly indestructible stress-relieved ductile cast iron. The sole and sides are precision lapped to within 0.003" over the entire length of the sole. Overall length is 14" long and 2-1/2" wide. Weight is 4.6 pounds. The blade is adjusted forward/back via the solid brass rear adjustment knob. The 3/16" thick by 2" wide tool steel iron is hardened and tempered to 60-65 HRc. Blade is ground at 25 degrees. The mouth opening can be easily adjusted for both fine and coarse work. This plane has good mass to reduce chatter and stay in the cut. Bed angle is 12 degrees.
