Patterned after the classic Stanley No. 62 Low Angle Jack Plane, first introduced in 1905 and produced until 1942, this plane follows one of Stanley's most innovative and versatile designs. The original No. 62 combined a low-angle, bevel-up cutter with an adjustable mouth, making it exceptionally effective for end-grain work, shooting boards, and difficult grain.

The No. 62 Low Angle Jack Plane is a versatile bench plane capable of smoothing, flattening, and jointing boards with ease. Its low cutting angle excels at trimming end grain and tackling figured or difficult woods, making it an excellent choice for cabinetmakers and discerning woodworkers alike.

The body is cast from gray cast iron and features a precision-lapped sole and sides, flat to within 0.003" over the entire length of the plane. Measuring 14" long and 2-1/2" wide, and weighing 4.8 lbs., it has ample mass to reduce chatter and maintain a smooth, consistent cut.

Blade adjustment is controlled by a solid brass rear adjustment knob. The 2" wide x 3/16" thick tool steel iron is hardened and tempered to 60–65 HRC and ground to a 25° bevel. The adjustable mouth allows quick tuning for either fine finishing cuts or heavier stock removal. The 12° bed angle, combined with the bevel-up blade design, produces an exceptionally low cutting angle ideal for a wide range of woodworking tasks.

The tote and front knob are crafted from Indian rosewood, while all fittings are solid brass.
