This #4-1/2 Bench Plane is the perfect tool to smooth smaller areas and will achieve an accurate and smooth finish. This smoother is ideal for the cabinet maker and discerning woodworker. The body and frog are made from ductile cast iron. The sole and sides are precision machined to within 0.003" over the entire length of the sole. Overall length is 10-1/4” and width is 2-7/8". The knob and tote are carefully shaped, sanded, oiled and hand-rubbed Sapele. The 0.125" thick and 2-3/8" wide tool steel iron is hardened and tempered to 55-60 HRc. This plane has appropriate mass and weighs in at 5.8 pounds. The frog can be adjusted forward and back. The lever cap is made from plated cast iron. Cap iron screws and adjusting wheels are made from polished brass. Bed angle is 45 degrees.

I saw your smoothing playing the four and a half but I liked about it was the two and three eights inch played with so I can swap out planer blades I have not used this yet but it looks like a good product I still need to check out the squareness and the flatness of the Soul but I'm sure it's within a tolerance like a deal with and flatten myself if necessary however I believe it should come close enough for what I need it for if it's not I will repost but I think of it so far everything I've purchased has been in good shape that arrived at my home and very happy with my decisions to purchasing what I have from you
