Taytools #2 Chisel Plane

The Large Chisel Plane functions much like a paring chisel, offering exceptional control for trimming joinery flush to a surface. It excels at flushing dowels and plugs, cleaning out right-angle corners, removing dried glue, and performing other trimming tasks.

Because there is no sole in front of the blade, the cutting edge has unrestricted access to the workpiece, allowing flush cuts in areas that would be inaccessible to a conventional bench plane. Blade depth adjustment is via a solid brass thumb screw.

The plane is equipped with a 2-1/4" wide by 0.140” thick A2 tool steel blade, hardened and tempered for excellent edge retention. The blade spans the full width of the plane body, ensuring complete corner-to-corner access.

The body is manufactured from gray cast iron with a durable powder-coated finish. It comes fitted with a comfortable Indian rosewood knob and solid brass fittings.
