These stainless-steel bottle stoppers feature a less-tapered design that uses four nitrile O-rings to increase sealing capacity. Two O-rings make full contact with the inside of the bottle neck, providing a tighter and more reliable seal than traditional tapered stoppers, which typically allow only one O-ring to contact the bottle interior. They are ideal for sealing opened wine bottles (cork or screw-top), balsamic vinegar, oils, and most screw-top liquor bottles, helping preserve freshness while enhancing the bottle’s overall appearance.
Installation is simple: insert the stopper while gently twisting to create a secure friction fit. The stopper has a 13/16″ top diameter and measures 1-1/2″ tall (excluding the threaded stud).
The clean profile adds elegance to any custom stopper you create, while the flat top provides ample space for custom engraving, making these an excellent choice for wedding gifts, anniversaries, and personalized keepsakes. Handles can be crafted from a wide range of materials, including wood, pottery, polymer clay, ceramics, antique doorknobs, and even golf balls.
Due to the pointed tip, these stoppers do not stand upright on their own.
Each stopper is machined from solid 304 (18-8) stainless steel and includes a 3/8″ × 16 TPI threaded stud, 1/2″ long, for secure attachment to your custom-turned handle. When used with a Niles Bottle Stoppers self-tapping mandrel, no threaded insert is required. For most woods, use a 5/16″ stub drill bit; for dense woods, acrylics, or resins, use an 11/32″ stub drill bit.
To use: Insert the stopper by pressing down while gently twisting to achieve a tight seal. Do not push straight down.
To remove: Gently pull upward using a twisting or rocking motion.
