This scraper is used on square bottomed boxes the end profile allows the tool to create a right angled juncture between side wall and bottom. The 85° angle at the end prevents the tool from cutting the side wall and the bottom at the same time.It is excellent for undercutting the rims of small bowls. Made from high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. It will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. Comes with hard White Ash handles and solid brass ferrule.
