Pinie Premium Rabbet Plane with Beech Body Hornbeam Sole and Adjustable Mouth

The Pinie Rabbet Plane is designed for cutting rabbets along the edge of a workpiece or for trimming tenon shoulders. It can be used both with and across the grain. The blade spans the full width of the plane, allowing it to cut flush to the edge.

The PREMIUM body is crafted from European beech with a hornbeam sole, offering increased wear resistance and smoother gliding. The mouth can be adjusted using the front brass knob to minimize tearout and can be set for either fine or heavy shavings. It is available with two blade adjustment options - either a wedge-style or norris-style adjuster.  The wedge-style blade adjustment can be easily tuned with a few gentle taps of a mallet - tap the iron for a deeper cut, on the back of the plane body to retract, and on the top of the wedge to lock in your setting. View instructions for more details.

The blade bed angle is 45°, and by reversing the blade, the angle increases to 75°— a useful technique when working with extremely hard woods. Primary bevel is pre-sharpened at a 28° bevel. adjusted The blade will require initial flattening of the back and honing before use. This plane includes a chipbreaker.
