M42 Spindle Gouges are used for detailed work such as cutting coves, forming beads, and making V cuts; as well as for shallow hollowing or hole boring.

The blade is made from M2 High-Speed Steel, which is hardened and triple-tempered to enhance both performance and wear resistance, ensuring it stays sharper for a longer duration. This allows you to spend less time sharpening and more time turning. These tools come pre-sharpened and ready to use. The ergonomic handles are crafted from ash and feature red powder-coated solid brass ferrules.

Spindle gouges are used for detailed shaping between centers on parallel grain, particularly for concave curves.  These spindle gouges can be used to create beads, coves and other profiles on vases, goblets, candle sticks and more shaped work.
