Henry Taylor Hamlet M2 HSS Long & Strong Detail Gouge (3/8" - 1/2")

These Henry Taylor detail gouges are designed for very fine point work. The shallow flute and heavy cross section of the long & strong gouges make them stable and easier to control. It is particularly helpful when the tool is projecting some distance from the tool rest, as for example in multi axis turning. They are used mainly in spindle work for cutting beads and coves or for shaping of weed pots, finger tops, or boxes.

The blades are made from the extremely stable M2 high-speed steel, known for its exceptional edge-holding ability. The ergonomic handles, made from dark-stained European beech, are paired with solid brass ferrules.
