For over 45 years, Dubuque Clamp Works has been manufacturing specialized clamps of all kinds in their Dubuque, Iowa factory. Renowned for their uncompromising quality, they have been an industry leader for decades producing some of the best and most useful clamps on the market, built to last for generations.

These Universal Bar Clamps are crafted from extruded aircraft aluminum and injection molded aluminum alloys, making them lightweight yet extremely rigid. They are perfect for panel and casework glue-ups. The rigid extruded U-channel beams measure 1.37” x 0.850” with 0.110” thick sidewalls and have detents every 5/8” for quick adjustments. The aluminum beams do not react with wood glues, preventing staining.

The fixed head is riveted to the beam, featuring ½” diameter smooth-turning acme threads and a large "wing" knob for easy one-handed operation, generating up to 1000 pounds of clamping pressure, more than enough to handle any job in your shop. Jaw travel is 1-1/2". The moveable head wraps completely around the beam, slides easily, and locks into any of the detents with an easy-to-adjust spring action lock. Both heads remain square to the beam under pressure. The clamping faces are 1-1/2” x 1-1/2”. These clamps can sit upright on their own during panel glue-ups. Available in 24”, 36”, 48”, 60”, and 72” lengths. The listed size is the maximum distance between the jaws, or largest piece that can be clamped. Overall length is 7" longer that listed size.

    My go to clamp for most situations
    Among all my clamps, most of which are name brands, this is the one I prefer to use. Its sturdy construction and light weight make it a pleasure to handle, so much so that I'm planning to buy another pair. The only drawback I've noticed is with the butterfly handle—occasionally, you need to elevate the items you're clamping above the work table just to turn the tensioning screw. If they were to use a barrel-style twist knob instead, it would help reduce this extra height requirement.

    Beautiful Lightweight Clamp
    Really nice clamp. Turns nicely. Light weight but strong. Jaws are a bit small but it's very well made.

    Positive positioning of jaws and quickly adjustable
    Good quality made clamps for light to medium duty clamping such as panel glue ups, drawer assembly, cabinet carcasses, etc… and not to mention that it is made in the USA.

    Glue Ups with Dubuque Universal Bar Clamps
    I really like the Dubuque Universal Bar Clamps. They are light weight made from aluminum. They sit flat on the bench so that you're not fighting to keep them upright when setting your boards on them before tightening. They hold up well to clamping pressure and are easy to use. I can definitely recommend them.

    There are NONE BETTER!
    Dubuque bar clamps are the best clamps available BY FAR! They are light weight, strong and do not flex with NORMAL use. They can flex if you use excessive force. They don't leave "Black Marks" on your work from wet glue I have replaced every single bar clamp in my shop with Dubuque. They also have EXCELLENT specialty clamps for gluing up face frames.

    Much better than my other pipe clamps
    I heard about these from Stumpy Nubs, and I'm definitely glad I came across them. I don't have a lot of woodworking experience, and I want heritage some tools including some pipe collapse that I've never been able to quite get to work well. These are much better, and as soon as I can I will be getting some more.
