3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Clean Sanding Film Discs feature 3M ™ proprietary Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The sharp, triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or “plowing” like conventional abrasives, resulting in a disc that cuts up to 2x as fast and lasts up to 6x as long as conventional abrasives.


These discs are ideal for a broad range of applications focused primarily on stock removal, and are effective on a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, gelcoat, and wood. The 3 mil has greater tear resistance than paper discs for additional durability and edge retention.

3M offers a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. They are often used in applications where a 3M™ Stikit™ disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit™ discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit™ sanding discs conveniently attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly, easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life.

Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn’t loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. 3M ™ proprietary multi-hole pattern on Clean Sanding products evacuates dust at a higher rate than 5 or 6-hole products. This hole design doesn’t require alignment of holes on the disc pad, making disc changes quick and simple. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate dust and other sanding debris and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability.

    These work great!! No vacuum holes to line up, last a long time and super dust pickup through the mesh.

    Good sanding discs.
    These sanding discs are very good, but do seem to build up residue from sanding cherry a little faster than I expected. Probably from my heavy hand. Will buy again.

    Takes the "hate" out of sanding.
    Did a side by side comparison on two identical 6"x6' oak boards using Cubitron and a competitor. Used 80, 100 and 120 grit. Night and day difference. Cubitron discs outlasted the other by at least 10 to 1. Cubitron cleaned off easily with a shot of air. The other went in the trash from clogging (there was a minor amount of shellac on the boards). Time saved with Cubitron is fantastic. Probably 8-10 times faster. Mounts easily without having to line up the holes. Greatly reduced the amount of dust in the air.

    Fits my sanding pad and long lasting
    I have been very happy with the product. It fits my pad perfectly and doesn't bind up or get full of dust like some other discs I have used.

    Amazing
    I still can't get over how good this sandpaper is. Industry changing technology. The disk is firm enough to last a long time and the paper doesn't clog up at all.

    Great paper, lousy loop
    I use the mesh version of this paper religiously as it is unmatched. This is my first time using the "full version." The paper cuts great but is thrown from the sander after only 10 minutes of sanding, long before the paper wears out. I do not have this issue with xtract version. I really want to use this paper but cant if it doesn't stick. 3M, PLEASE make the loop better!
