Shinto saw rasps are manufactured from multiple high- quality hack saw blades that are joined together in a diamond pattern. One side has course teeth (11 teeth/inch) and the reverse side has fine teeth (25 teeth/inch). The open structure of the blade permits efficient dust clearance and prevents clogging. The slender, pointed tip can be used in corners. Although they can aggressively remove material with the coarse side, the reverse fine cut side leaves a surprisingly smooth surface. Made in Japan.

    I needed a wood rasp to shape and remove wood from custom gun stock blanks once initial profiling was comeplete.
    I absolutely love this product. It does not leave deep compression marks below the surface. Rasp has a rough and smooth side. The abrasive cutters do plug up, but not bad and a couple smart taps on the bench and back in action. If ever lost or broken, I would have a new one immediately.

    This rasp type is new to me. It made sense so I wanted to give it a try.
    This rasp is easy to hold flat. The two abrasives were perfect for two kinds of removal. I like how the sawdust falls away and doesn’t clog the file. The handle is big enough to get a good grip. I really like this style of rasp.

    Fantastic
    I saw this being used on YouTube by a fellow making walking sticks, and it’s just the proper tool I was looking for to use crafting canes and walking sticks in my shop. Very good quality and the Best price!
