This cabinet scraper plane is patterned after the Stanley #80. It is the perfect tool to use to produce flat and smooth surfaces during final stock surface preparation, particularly when working with difficult grain. The base is made from stress relieved ductile cast iron. The sole is precision machined to be flat within 0.001" over the entire length of the sole. Overall size is 11-1/2" long by 2-5/8" wide. The sole is 3-1/2" wide by 2-5/8" deep. The scraper blade is 2-3/4" wide by 0.100" thick and sharpened to 25 degrees. The blade is made from tool steel iron and hardened to 48-51 HRc. The plane has good mass and weighs in at 1.5 pounds. The rear adjustment thumbscrew can be adjusted to increase/decrease the curvature of the blade to produce coarse or fine shavings. Attack angle is 45 degrees.
