These coping saw components provide everything, (except the wood and blades) you need to make a compact and highly functional coping saw perfect for cutting curves and removing waste between dovetails. These saws are modeled after classic 18th and 19th century English and American bow saws. Bow saws look surprisingly simple, but work remarkably well and are simple to build. See below for links to full size plans and detailed instructions for building one of your own.

Complete Kit: 
  • Two 1/4” stainless steel pins slotted to accept standard pinned coping saw blades. The pins are a 2-piece design and when assembled create a slotted pin with a shoulder and a threaded end that gets glued in the handles. 
  • 2 each 1-1/4” diameter Ash handles, one 3-1/2” long and another 2-1/4” long 
  • One 8’ piece of braided fishing line

    Fret Saw Kit - Worth the effort
    You should definitely try this. I started making a saw for myself and found it made sense to make more, so I made eight. (Just in case-LOL). Found this through Frank Strazza and love using it and giving as a gift to my woodworking friends.
