Coping Saw Kit Complete with Stainless Steel Pins, Handles, Twine and Friction Washer (DCE)
This coping saw kit provide everything, (except the wood) you need to make a compact and highly functional coping saw perfect for cutting curves and removing waste between dovetails. These saws are modeled after classic 18th and 19th century English and American bow saws. Bow saws look surprisingly simple, but work remarkably well and are simple to build. See below for links to full size plans and detailed instructions for building one of your own.
1) Two 1/4” stainless steel pins slotted to accept standard pinned coping saw blades. The pins are a 2-piece design and when assembled create a slotted pin with a shoulder and a threaded end that gets glued in the handles.
2) 2 each 1-1/4” diameter Ash handles, one 3-1/2” long and another 2-1/4” long
3) One 8’ piece of braided fishing line
4) One leather friction washer
