Thomas Flinn 4 Foot Two-Man Crosscut Timber Saw-Plain or Peg Tooth
This two-man crosscut saw features a Peg or Plain tooth pattern, which just included cutter teeth. These teeth work in a way that the teeth cut on the pull stroke on each side of the tooth and so actually cut in each pulling direction.
Traditionally used in forestry and for crosscutting medium to large logs, these saws have gained popularity among individuals looking to cut their own firewood. They offer a safer, more environmentally friendly alternative to chainsaws and can be used by anyone.
The saw is 4 feet long and crafted from specially tempered saw steel, designed to maintain a sharp edge while remaining easy to sharpen and maintain. It comes with two clear-finished beech handles and the hardware and fit them. This saw is ideal for medium to large timber cutting and general-purpose use. Made in the UK by Thomas Flinn.
Sizing advice: For optimal performance, we recommend choosing a saw length that is double the diameter of the wood you're cutting. For example, if the log has a 2-foot diameter, a 4-foot saw would ensure you have enough stroke for efficient cutting.
Maintaince: The large file (as seen on this page and on the sharpening page) is used for sharpening these items. Saw setters are too small for saws with teeth of this size.
