Narex Tapered Cabinet Scraper Burnisher Reproduction of Stanley #185
This burnisher is a reproduction of the long-discontinued Stanley #185, offering a unique and practical design compared to any other burnisher. It features a tapered blade with a 30-degree tapered point, which helps ensuring you create a perfect 30-degree hook on cabinet scrapers. After creating a hook, lay your scraper flat on the bench and place the pointed tip at the end of the burr, with the handle perpendicular to the bench. Gently draw the tip along the burr to lift it slightly, forming a consistent 30-degree cutting edge. This technique results in a sharp cutting edge, producing fine shavings even when the scraper is nearly upright. It's also ideal for achieving the correct angle on scraper blades used in scraper planes.
Crafted by Narex in the Czech Republic, a renowned maker of world-class edge tools for over a century.
