This marking knife is an essential tool for general layout work and for creating precise lines to guide chisels and saws.

It features a 1/8"-thick, 1/2"-wide, and 1-1/4"-long blade made from hardened tool steel for durability and precision. The dual-bevel tip is ground at 55 degrees, with bevels sharpened to 25 degrees. This dual bevel design allows for marking in either direction and on both sides of a rule, making it equally useful for right- and left-handed users.

The hardwood handle, fitted with a brass ferrule fits naturally in the hand and is designed for comfort and control. Overall lenght is 6-3/4".

This knife offers excellent value for any woodworker.

Rosewood Handle Scratch Awl

This scratch awl is the perfect tool for making precise marks to guide brad or Forstner drill bits or to scratch layout lines.

It features a rosewood handle with a steel bolster, which provides a smooth transition from the wood handle to the blade, allowing for optimal hand and finger contact for increased comfort and control. The awl can be cupped in your palm while your fingers grip the bolster, offering excellent control for delicate work.

The 0.200" diameter blade is made from hardened tool steel that resists dulling and can be resharpened when necessary. The blade extends all the way through the handle to a strike plate, allowing the awl to be used with just hand pressure or struck with a mallet for deeper indents without damaging the handle.

Specifications:

  • Overall length: 6-1/2"
  • Handle diameter: 1.40"
  • Blade diameter: 0.200" (at the widest point)

This scratch awl offers exceptional value for a precision marking and layout tool.
