3M™ Cubitron™ II Stikit™ Film Sheet 775L features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or “plowing” like conventional abrasives, resulting in an abrasive that cuts up to 2x as fast and lasts up to 6x as long as conventional abrasives.
Shop Talk: Built for Stock Removal
3M™ Cubitron™ II Stikit™ Film Sheet 775L is ideal for a broad range of applications focused primarily on stock removal, because the 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain aggressively rids the workpiece of burrs. This sheet may be used on a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. For additional durability and edge retention, the film backing offers great tear resistance. Abrasive grain is adhered to the backing in an open-coat construction, which means space exists between the grains. These spaces permit debris to escape and can be especially helpful on work surfaces that tend to clog or load a coated abrasive.
Engineered to Help You Do More
3M precision-shaped grains are electronically oriented to form sharp peaks that easily "slice" through metal. They stay cool, cut fast and last long. Conventional ceramic abrasive grain tends to "plow" through the metal, causing heat to build up in the workpiece and the abrasive — resulting in a slower cut, shorter disc life and undesirable effects, such as brushing. We engineered this grain to deliver consistent results, part after part.
Combining Durability and Efficiency
Our 3M™ Stikit™ system eliminates the time-consuming task of applying adhesive to the abrasive. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so that attaching them to your backup pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker. And because the adhesive is pressure sensitive, the abrasive can be peeled off of the backup pad just as easily, leaving a clean surface for your next abrasive. A Stikit™ abrasive must be pressed onto a Stikit™ backup pad (also called a backup pad and sold separately) that is attached to a rotary tool.
Moreover, as a sheet, 775L can be cut and shaped to match the application. We combined sharp-cutting precision-shaped grain and a Stikit™ backing with operators in mind – to help make tough jobs faster, easier and more efficient.
