This is a 4-piece set of precision machinist squares made by Kinex Measuring, a company renowned for producing quality and accurate measuring tools since 1906. The set includes 2-3/8" (60mm), 3" (75mm), 4" (100mm), and 6" (150mm) squares. These squares are perfect for professional machinists, meticulous woodworkers, and DIY perfectionists.

Each square is crafted from two pieces of tool steel, with the bases and blades riveted together using two pins to create a strong and invisible joint. All faces and edges are ground and lapped for straightness and parallelism. Manufactured to strict German DIN 875/1 standards, these squares are guaranteed to be accurate to between 14-18 microns or 0.00055" to 0.0007" (5.5 to seven ten-thousandths of an inch).

The set comes in a foam insert with cutouts for each square and includes a signed inspection certificate.

The precision at this price point is unmatched and I did an embarrassingly huge amount of research before pulling the trigger. I have three gripes with these, whoever packaged them had some awfully oily fingers and I'm afraid that any abrasive or chemical removal might alter the accuracy of the squares so I guess they are there forever, the laser etching has a “made in china" look but I checked their accuracy against my Starrett and these were on point which is what really matters. And last i find it a bit sad that the certificate (which is just a card with a date and signature, no actual governing body is referenced) does not fit into the foam as it does in the photos which is also very “made in china"….they can make a try square that accurate at such a low price point but they can't cut foam to spec? Fixing Those couple details would do a lot to make a better first impression, especially considering this was my first purchase from taytools it was a rough start as a customer. Then I used the try squares and checked their calibration and my disappointment was corrected, I just flip them upside down and now I can't see the greasy fingerprints or the crappy logo and I'm a happy man.
