Scraper Pro Cabinet Scraper Preparation Kit (DCE)

This kit contains everything you need to prepare a cabinet scraper for creating fine shavings, except for the scraper and burnisher. It simplifies the process, reducing time, hassle, mess, and cost compared to traditional methods.

The kit includes the following:

• Includes all necessary hardware (two 1/4-20 x 2" carriage bolts, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4-20 wing nuts) for constructing a twin-jaw scraper vise, which securely holds a scraper for accurate filing and honing, maintaining the edge at a precise 90-degree angle to the faces.
• Four rare earth magnets (1/4" x 1/2") are included for crafting a small, 1/2" x 6" magnetic wood scraper handle. This handle ensures consistent downward pressure on the scraper's edge during honing and polishing.
• Two thin, flexible spring steel strips (0.020" x 0.5") allow for quick and accurate setting of cabinet scraper protrusion in the twin-jaw vise, maintaining a 90-degree edge during filing and honing. One strip can also be used for the "ruler trick" when honing the faces.
• An 8" single-cut mill file is provided to remove factory mill marks from the scraper edge, establishing a straight, square edge ready for honing.
• For edge refinement, two half sheets of 80-micron PSA lapping film (4-1/4" x 11") are included for lapping and removing file marks. Two additional half sheets of 40-micron PSA lapping film help remove scratches left by the 80-micron film, completing the final polishing and preparing the edge for turning the burrs/hooks.
• A dead-flat float glass sheet (5/16" thick, 5-1/2" wide, 11" long) is included for applying the lapping film, along with a non-slip pad to prevent the glass from sliding on your workbench. 

Note: cabinet scrapers and burnishers are NOT included.
