Japanese Style Hammers
These economical Japanese-Style hammers have heads with an oval cross-section. The heads have one flat and one slightly convex striking face. The flat face is best for tapping chisels or hammering nails and the curved face is used for the last blow and designed to drive nails flush with the wood without damaging the surrounding surface. Heads are selective hardened on the striking face. Handles are made from hardwood and long for the head weight, so you can choke up for control or swing from the butt end producing more force. Weight refers to the weight of the head and not the entire hammer. These hammers are an excellent value.
