Most have scratches, discoloration, small voids in the castings or other blemishes. In addition, the name brand on each blade has been ground off. We guarantee that the length and graduations will be accurate and that it will be a usable and fully-functional measuring tool. Instead of recycling the steel, they are sold at a fraction of the price.
These square blade is manufactured in the USA by Products Engineering Corporation (PEC Tools), one of the last US precision 1measuring tools manufacturing companies. They are made from hardened and tempered tool steel. They have a "zero-glare" satin chrome finish that provides better rust and scratch resistance than polished steel and can be easily read in both low and bright light conditions. Graduations are deep precision photo etched and then black filled for easy readability. All four sides are ground parallel and straight.
